In the Philippines, onsets of summer season are the various fiestas or festivals in different parts of the country. In fact, each region has its own festivity to celebrate and be proud about. There are major festivities and not to mention the small town fiestas too. Among the major festivals in the Philippines this coming Summer are the following:
- Pahiyas Festival – it is celebrated in Lucban Quezon in honor of San Isidro Labrador, the patron saint of the farmers.
- Bangus Festival in Dagupan, Pangasinan the highlight of the event is the longest bangus grill which is done yearly. The grilled bangus are shared among the festival spectators.
- Obando Fertility Rites which take place in Obando, Bulacan. It is where couples danced on the street hoping and praying that the woman would bear a child.
The list of festivals can go a long way, the culinary expertise of Filipinos are also showcased in each festivals. These events clearly demonstrate the colorful culture and tradition of the Philippines.

Very colorful talaga ang Philippine festivals. We have to thank the Spaniards for teaching us how to celebrate fiestas!
Ye s, because of them we hve these things 🙂 but still not all things they gave us are good … but their contributions are what a Filipino today is made-of
