When I think of home, I think of lazy afternoons spent idly sipping ice cold lemonade on the front porch. Between that and swanky hotel accommodations with bellboys at your beck and call, I choose the former, hands down.  Nothing beats the familiarity and comfort of your own home. When going away on a vacation, don’t you wish you could shrink your house to the size of a pea and stuff it in your purse? Wish no more, as Roomorama offers you the closest thing to that utopian dream.

While it’s not exactly possible for you to tote your living room with you on your trip, Roomorama breathes life into what’s more popularly known as peer to peer housing rentals.

Roomorama is an online portal which provides you with more than four hundred destinations for short-term rentals. It’s nothing short of amazing how Roomorama is able to provide the weary traveler, whether you’re alone or with the entire brady bunch, with options in over 400 cities on where to stay for your much-deserved vacation. Somewhat similar to couchsurfing , Roomorama matches up the traveler with a host.  It does a successful job of connecting guests with hosts whom you wouldn’t have to arm-wrestle just to be able to rent their place as a short-term accommodation.

A word of caution, though.  As you surf on their website, you may get overly excited with the options available.  I know I had to restrain myself when I was overwhelmed by the numerous choices right at my fingertips.  My family are planning on going on a trip to Singapore  next year, and I am seriously considering this Studio designer apartment in Wilkie Road or this Shanghai style double studio located at One-North district.

When it comes to payment, you can be assured of security.  What happens is you pay online as you normally would.  But instead of the host receiving the money straight away, you are given an alphanumeric code which you then give to the host.  He then logs on to the website, enters the code and collects his money.

No matter where in the world you plan to go, you are sure to find a place which will enhance your travel experience.  Here’s an informative video on what Roomorama is all about.
