Best Vacation Tip: Hotel Comforts to Look For

In the last couple of decades, there has been a tremendous boom in tourism industry all across the world. However, there has been a change in the mindsets. Due to increasing competition, almost every hotel offers good service and basic amenities these days. As a result, people don’t look for expensive or luxurious hotels anymore. They understand that even average-cost or budget hotels can offer some exceptional room comforts. In this article, we will tell you about some of the best comforts that make a hotel special.

Staff

Hotel staff is one of the most important signs to tell you about the quality of a hotel. Many budget hotels have decent staff members with great communication skills. They are also friendly and helpful. In fact, hotel staff is the life and soul of every budget hotel. Thus, you should make sure that you don’t get disappointed in this regard. Friendly crew in a hotel makes it completely special. If the crew in a hotel is good, you don’t mind staying there for long. You will notice the feel-good factor of the hotel. The staff will greet you with a smile and keep you happy.

Cleanliness

No one wants to stay in a dirty room. In fact, there is no reason to stay in a dirty hotel room. After all, you are paying for it. Thus, cleanliness in a hotel room is a crucial factor in deciding whether it’s worthy of your stay or not. A room should be clean, polished and free from insects and pests.

The design of a room is another factor you should take into account while deciding if a hotel is special or not. It is true that the choice of design will vary from person to person. However, there are certain things which should never be part of the design. For instance, uncomfortable furniture, compact wardrobes, too much light and so on. Everything in a room should feel like you bought it yourself.

Facilities

In recent times, some facilities have become a necessity. Some of these include internet, cable, air conditioner, room heater and so on. Always look for these facilities in a hotel room before making your choice. If the hotel does not provide these basic facilities, it can not be labeled as special.

Recently, Ibis Hotels released a video describing different room comforts you should look for in an average-cost hotel. The video tells you everything you need to know about making a good choice when trying to determine which hotel would be best for you.

  1. I agree with your post — I think staff, cleanliness and amenities make a hotel special. You don’t necessarily have to spend a fortune to have all 3 — just do some shopping around and you can find a great hotel.

  2. Definitely cleanliness and a courteous staff is what I look for. A hotel might have lots of ammenities but if it is not clean and the staff is unfriendly I refuse to stay there again.

  3. Thanks for sharing this – I agree with everything you posted and it’s good to hear others perspective about what they look for when they chose a hotel.

  4. For me, I tend to stick with chains that are known for their comfortable beds. Sounds simple, but I already have trouble sleeping away from home! We recently traveled up and down the east coast and had no trouble with any of our rooms! A nice touch at one hotel was free bottled water in the room! The bottles were so unique, I saved them!
